Replacing Antenna With "Shark Fin"

Updating the OEM "stinger" antenna was something I've wanted to do for a long time. I found a source on Amazon that color-matches the paint and did a great job. It turned out so well that Subaru Corp updated all models with them the next year.

Preparation only required removing the stinger from the base and cleaning the area so the double-sided foam tape would stick.

After that, you attach the "fin's" cable to the OEM base.

The "fin" can only go on onw-way. If you try to put it on backwards, it will be obvious... eventually.

Once you turn it around, it's then a simple thing to peel-and-stick the "fin" in place.
