Window Tint

As hot as the summers are in Texas, window tint is more than just a stylish accessory; it's a survival mod. Cutting the UV helps slow deterioration of the interior and a tint that blocks IR heat can keep your car from turning into an oven when outside temperatures go past 100° and inside temperatures skyrocket past 200°.

With these needs in mind, I went with the new Wincos product by Lintec out of Japan. I chose the HCD-20 for the rear side and hatch windows. The Wincos HCD-30 went on the front side windows. These are the maximum darknesses allowed by Texas law. Since both versions block 92% of infrared, they should work well. The product comes with a national lifetime warranty. If you've ever had your car tinted and learned that the warranty promised was for the lifetime of the installer's shop, then this is a nice change of pace.

The following before and after photos should give an idea of the finished look.
